Why stop vaping?
After all it is better for me than smoking. Well the simple answer to that we don’t know what the long term effects of vaping are and even though scientists are still learning about vapes, they do not consider them safe.
One of the more recent in-depth studies on vaping has been conducted in Australia and can be found at www.health.nsw.gov.au the importers of vapes are very shy about revealing their ingredients but let me list some of those identified in the Australian study:
- Acetone; found in nail polish remover
- Acrolein found in herbicides
- 2-chlorophenol found in disinfectant, cleaning products and insecticide
- Pulegone found in insecticide
- Formaldehyde, heavy metals, particulate matter and flavouring chemicals
- Various chemical substances and ultra fine particles
- Monopropylene Glycol used in the food industry, shaving lotions, shampoos
- Nicotine, which is highly addictive and can cause decreased attention, learning and memory deficits and emotional dysregulation, mood and impulse control problems.
- Many vapes contain 50mg of nicotine which is equivalent to roughly 50 cigarettes.
- Six out of ten “non nicotine” liquids tested contained nicotine
So if you decide that you would rather not put these chemicals into your delicate lungs maybe it’s time to stop!
The treatment for vaping is very similar to smoking and is a single session lasting for 90 minutes. At the end of that session I expect that you will quit vaping but if you have any further issues with what is a highly addictive substance I will treat you for free within the following three months.
Change your life!
